Straftanz headliner show at Resistanz 2022
In April 2022, I performed at Resistanz Festival in Sheffield as part of Straftanz. Since this was a one off show and we were headlining the festival, we decided to go all in. We invited two other bands (Biomechanimal (UK) and Sirus (Australia)) to perform with us, along with an appearance by Brian Graupner of The Gothsicles (US).
During show preparations, I helped develop the creative concept for the show and was involved in writing and producing the intro track, writing brand new lyrics for one existing Straftanz track, and creative communications with Biomechanimal. I was showrunner during the performance itself.
A Cheesy Rave Intro - Straftanz
This is a cheesy rave intro we made exclusively for the final Straftanz show at Resistanz 2022. It is about the feeling of anticipation that there is Resistanz again, about meeting again after 7 years. It is unmastered, raw and of limited sound quality, exactly the thing people heard at the gig.
The vocal was done by Van Diamant, who we met on Zoom during lockdown. She also provided a little bit of inspiration to help us channel our inner trance cracker.
XP8 - Lockdown Logic (Straftanz/Miss X Isolation Rave Remix)
A remix made by jl and myself for a dear friend to exorcise the lockdown demons. jl and I also produced the video footage shown when playing the track on Spotify mobile; it’s a short visual interpretation of our lockdown experience.
